Recommended areas include Stuttgart-Mitte, Stuttgart-West, Stuttgart-Süd, and the suburban district of Vaihingen, each providing easy access to the workshop location and the city center.

Arrival by car from highway

A8 from München/Ulm or Karlsruhe
A81 from Heilbronn or Singen

At the motorway junction 'Autobahnkreuz Stuttgart' follow the signs directing you to 'Stuttgart Zentrum/Stadtmitte'. Take the third exit 'Universität'. Then turn to the left and follow 'Universitätsstraße' straight on. Limited parking available.

Arrival by train from Stuttgart Main Station

Three train lines ('S-Bahn') take you from Stuttgart Main Station ('Hauptbahnhof') to DLR Stuttgart. Travel time is 10-15 minutes.

S1: direction Böblingen/Herrenberg
S2: direction Vaihingen/Filderstadt
S3: direction Vaihingen/Flughafen Messe

S-Bahn trains depart from the basement of the station. Upon arrival follow the green 'S'-signs. Access the basement close to platform 3 – steps or escalators. Tickets for the S-Bahn train (VVS) have to be bought at the ticket machines or in the VVS App before boarding the S-Bahn.

Get off at the train stop 'Universität' and use exit 'Universitätszentrum'.

To arrive from Hauptbanhof, only one zone is required for the ticket.

Arrival by plane from Stuttgart airport

There are two train lines ('S-Bahn') which will take you to DLR Stuttgart. Traveling time is about 20 minutes.

S2: direction Schorndorf
S3: direction Backnang

Upon arrival follow the green 'S'-signs in the airport building. They will directly guide you to the train stop. Tickets for the S-Bahn train (VVS) have to be bought at the ticket machines close to the train stop before boarding the train. Buy a ticket for two zones at one of the orange colored vending machines or buy it in the VVS App.
Get off at the train stop 'Universität' and use exit 'Universitätszentrum'.

Alternatively, a taxi takes you in 30 minutes from Stuttgart airport to DLR Stuttgart.
